Note: The species grows in the low intertidal or sublittoral fringe. It has a dark red to brownish-red colour, but may become very bleached in the summer. It has round or rounded main axis with first and second order side branches placed irregularly in one plane, and with blunt tips. Axes grow from a small attachment disc.
