Note: This is a very rare species in Norway. The specimen was part of a population growing intermixed with Catenella caespitosa in the intertidal of a narrow small sound. The species is small and turf-forming, with rounded or oval axes from which flat and narrow blades grow. Side branches emerge irregularly more or less in one plane, set with a wide angle to the axis.
