Note: Thallus can normally be to around 20 cm, it is tubular and compressed and normally much branched. In a microscopic view the chloroplasts are hood-shaped and normally placed in the apical part of the cell, having one pyrenoid. The species is common in the intertidal and in the sublittoral fringe.
