Note: The species has an irregular branching of the main axes, which are densely set with short and uniseriate side branches of determined growth. The species can be confused with Cladostephus hirsutus, but differs from this by having a dense and non-verticillate setting of the small side branches. It is most common in the intertidal, and often grows in rock pools.
