Note: The species is common in sheltered sites during summer. Thallus is inflated, up to 30 cm long and 4 cm wide. Surface cells are rectangular and placed in rows, and hairs occur often in groups. Plurilocular and unilocular sporangia are found in sori on the surface. They can be found on separate or on the same thallus. Paraphyses are most common together with plurilocular sporangia and are up to 4 cells long.
