Note: Thallus consists of several upright main axes, with side branches forming bundles. Axes are divided in segments of 6-8 periaxal cells. Periaxal cells are covered by cortex cells along the main axes, while small side branches are without cortex. The species is common in wave-exposed intertidals along the coast of Norway. The habit of the species may resemble that of Rhodomela confervoides.
