Note: The species has round axes 1-2 mm wide and grows to around 15 cm tall. It has a repeated dichotomous branching, making it appear bushy. It has a small round attachment disc, from which additional axes may grow. Tetrasporangia are cruciate and can be found in the outer cortex layer.
