Note: Thallus of the gametophytic phase is compact, soft and very gelatinous. Axes are normally sparsely and dichotomously branched, and with a circular outline. The species occurs in the intertidal at wave-exposed sites during summer. The sporophytic phase has a microscopic, uniseriate morphology.
