Note: Lomentaria orcadensis is a rather rare species growing in the subtidal zone, often in sounds with strong tidal currents. The species is known from the southern coasts to Stadt, and has also been reported from the coast of Nordland. Only fertile tetrasporophytes are known from Norway.
