Note: The species is found in the sublittoral along the Norwegian coast northwards to Mid-Norway. Young main branches and side branches have regular, alternate branching in one plane. Segments with 9-10 periaxial cells are clearly visible in young parts, but obscured by cortification in older parts. Uniseriate pseudolateral branches with determined growth develop at intervals of 2-3 segments. The pseudolaterals have a polysiphonous base.
