Note: This is a relatively rare species in Norway, which can be found in warm water bays or polls. It occurs both in an attach form and in a loose-laying form. The attached form grows as bundles of upright axes with alternate side branches. The last order branches are very pointed. The loose-laying form have entangled axes with short, pointed side branches forming alternately, often in pairs.
