Note: Thin, unbranched and small (to a few cm tall) pluriseriate filaments, covered with hairs and growing in bundles, often epiphytically on kelp lamina or Chorda filum. Thallus is compact and composed of a surface layer of cells arranged in rows, a cortex consisting of 1-2 layers of rectangular cells, and a medulla of elongated cells. Uni- or plurilocular zoidangia are embedded among surface cells. Unilocular zoidangia are vaulted, while plurilocular zoidangia are within the level of the surface cells. The species is recorded along the coast of Norway up north to Sørøya.
